Understanding the IT Transformations
UNDERSTANDING THE IT TRANSFORMATIONS
If we understand the lasts transformations in IT then we are updated in relation to the flow of data in the systems.
How is this possible?
Some years ago the computer technology begins to use screens to monitor operations; the use of these screens did not permit to see photos, the screen resolution was only of 8 bits and therefore, the databases systems did not use photos.
Some years later we have a screen resolution of 64 bits and some years later is possible to manage photos in the databases systems. And, what happened on the way?
The hardware, the software, and the methodology changed. If we take as point of reference in the past the resolution of 16 bits we say that is possible to see photos in the computer, then from this moment we do not talk about changes, we talk about transformations.
“We talk about transformations….”
In the transformation, we do essentially the same. We can see and manage photos in databases systems or in an information system. Only, at less in this case, we can to observe that the changes in technologies increase the capacity of the user and extend his area of action.
Because of this we have .Net Microsoft technologies, and also the evolution of java from J2SE to J2EE and J2ME.
The transformations of a technology makes possible to assimilate new features from new technologies.
“To assimilate new features….”
If we understand this we see that first was possible to manage images in the computers, then in some years we are talking about different pictures formats: bmp, tiff, jpg, png and others. And then we are talking of sounds in the computers and its different formats: wav, acc, mp3 and others.
We have that we can “manage photos in databases systems or in an information system” and now with sounds we can do exactly the same. Now is possible to manage sounds in databases systems or in an information system.
In this point is possible to talk about a cycle of IT evolution that has 3 steps:
1. Transformation
2. Assimilation of existents technologies
3. Innovation (the generation of new technology)
Every time of this cycle we will see a new generation of tools and languages in the areas of Information Technology.
Up to here the first part.
